Introduction to Appraising Wine

Don’t let the winter get you down - spend your February learning about wine in this 5-week live webinar!

Add to the services available to your clients by broadening your knowledge of wine with this introductory course. Explore the current global trends and markets. What should you look for in an Estate appraisal with a vintage wine collection? And what do you need to be aware of when dealing with divorce settlements and insurance reports that include wine.

Each week students will be given an assignment to prepare for the following weeks class. This is not a wine tasting course.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn about how wine is made, inventory, cellar requirements and U.S. standards
  • Explore the factors that determine the value of wine
  • Develop your understanding of what makes wine an investment, wine auctions and market futures
  • Learn to read wine labels, and identify various countries & regions

This course will introduce students to the basic elements of wine appraising. It is not a prep course for the Appraisers Association Wine Certification Exam.

We recommend reviewing the course syllabus before registering to see assignments and required reading!
