Join us for a lecture discussing the Ethan Cohen Fine Arts exhibition
The exhibition explores the connection between narratives and ideologies in pop-art, sots-art and the Asian avant-garde. In the exhibition, connections between major art works by iconic artists such as Andy Warhol, Ai Weiwei, Aleksander Kosolapov, and others are drawn out.
Since the rupture between the West and the East, and the development of communist and capitalist ideologies, artists have re ected on and rethought this era as part of their heritage. Through the constant exchange of symbols, these artists have elevated the discourse of politics in art and the personal lives of both the artists and their audience. Using political symbols both philosophically and ironically, artists have created resonant and controversial art, which is featured in Red Attack.
