Join Valerie A. Cooper, Picture That Art Consultants, for a live webinar that will explore the rich history of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) art collections nationwide. Explore the careers of prominent artists, examine important 19th and 20th century works of art, and learn about the HBCU Digital Art Collection Project (H-DAP) designed to provide accessibility to the collections for education, cultural enrichment and legacy building purposes.

Valerie A. Cooper Founded Picture That Art Consultants in 2002, resulting from her passion for the fascinating world of cultural art. Prior to that, Valerie spent 15 years on Wall Street as Vice President of Technology with Goldman Sachs where her responsibilities included curating diversity art exhibitions throughout the firm’s facilities, and also establishing partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). As an accredited member of the Appraisers Association of America with a specialty in African American Fine Art, Valerie appraises art collections for private clients, corporations and academic institutions. Her firm also provides art collection management, art inventory, digitization and curatorial services. Valerie holds an MBA from Columbia University Business School, a Fine Arts Appraisal Studies Certificate from New York University, an Executive Entrepreneur Certificate from Tuck School of Business-Dartmouth College, and a BS from Morgan State University. She is the current Vice-Chairman for the City of Stamford, CT’s Arts & Culture Commission.
