Taught by Certified Member and Past President of the Board of Directors, Cynthia Herbert, AAA, Theory and Methodology takes place online in real time. The course concludes with a multiple choice exam that is administered on the last day of class. Attendance is mandatory at all 4 classes.
This course teaches the essential framework for personal property appraisal and discusses important issues affecting the profession. Stidents will study the different types of appraisals (including Estate Tax, Insurance, Non-Cash Charitable Contributions, and Equitable Distribution), examine different types of value, different approaches to value, different market levels of trade, and the varieties of property most often appraised. Other topics include appraisal terminology and definitions, client management, industry standards, and the Appraisers Association's Code of Ethics.
Technical requirements include: access to a computer with a microphone, speakers, and a strong Internet connection. A headset or earbuds are strongly recommended for the best learning environment.
Fees: $350 for Candidates and Members
Changes or cancellations to your registration should be made at least 5 business days prior to the start of the course. Cancellation within 5 days of the start date are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Courses require a minimum of 6 attendees to run.
