A leading art critic, curator, researcher-analyst of artists, art trends and art markets since the 1980s, Ronny Cohen is a known authority in Postwar, Contemporary, and 20th Century Art. With Ph.D. and MA degrees in art history from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU, she has written on hundreds of artists from Picasso and Matisse to Warhol, Koons, and Bourgeois, and on numerous major developments in painting, sculpture, prints, drawings, photography and the marketplace in 500-plus features and reviews appearing in Artnews, Artforum, Art in America, The Art Newspaper, Drawing, The Print Collector’s Newsletter and Art + Auction and other leading publications. A former New York columnist for The Art Newspaper, she is a groundbreaking curator whose shows on Abstract Expressionism and Post-Minimalism have been covered in The New York Times and Village Voice. She has advised collectors, dealers, artists and art consultants on purchases and sales, and does appraisals, valuations and analysis ranging from single artworks to artist’s estates.
