Putnam Art Advisors & Consultants, Inc. is a multi-faceted art advisory firm serving private high-net-worth clients, museums, historical sites, artists, foundations, and corporations in the purchase and deaccession of fine and decorative art as well as collection management.

From 2009 through 2019, she taught Art Law, Tax Law pertaining to the Valuation of Fine and Decorative Art, and a number of courses in American Fine and Decorative Arts, including Furniture of the American South at New York University. Currently, she is a member of the College of Charleston’s Art and Architectural History faculty where she teaches Art Law, The Fine and Decorative Arts of Charleston, Political Expression in Art, Arts and Crafts of Charleston, Preparing the Museum Professional, classes in the Global Looting and Restitution of Art, and multiple classes on Jean-Michel Basquiat.  She has published on American Decorative Arts and Historic Fashion and speaks frequently at conferences around the country including papers presented at Harvard Law School and Sotheby’s. Periodically, she serves as an expert witness. 

 Formerly, Patricia was the Regional Representative for Charleston and the Low Country of South Carolina and Georgia for Freeman's Auctions and later Freeman's l Hindman Auctions.

Recently, Patricia was elected to the Appraisal Standards Board of The Appraisal Foundation and will serve on the board through December 2025.
