Appraiser's Statement

Shari Brownfield began the art advisory and appraisal firm Shari Brownfield Fine Art, LLC in 2015 after a twenty year career in galleries and museums. Shari Brownfield has a certificate in Appraisal Studies from SUNY-Purchase and is an accredited member of the Appraisers Association of America. All appraisals by Shari Brownfield Fine Art conform with Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), the professional standards and ethics guide for appraisers.  Shari’s specialty is in Modern, Post War, and Contemporary art, but has worked with most art genres in some capacity. Through consistent and ongoing continuing education, Shari is current with new ways of valuation thinking and processes. Shari has worked on small and large estate appraisals (the largest being nearly 1,000 art objects) and takes great dedication to providing a thorough, detailed, and well thought out appraisal report.
