Appraiser's Statement

Kate Della Monica is a GIA Graduate Gemologist & USPAP compliant fine jewelry appraiser. She is an Accredited Member of the Appraiser's Association of America and a member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers. After achieving her goal of becoming a senior jewelry specialist in an auction house, Kate started her own independent fine jewelry appraisal and consulting business based out of Central Florida, KDM Gem. Her specialties include but are not limited to diamonds, colored stones, estate jewelry, & signed jewelry.

Kate graduated from Moore College of Art & Design with a BFA in 3D Fine Art (sculpture & installation). She took several jewelry making studio courses while at school learning skills such as casting & soldering. During & after college Kate gained experience working in the art industry for a private gallery in Philadelphia dealing primarily with early 20th century fine art prints & objects. After selling a large diamond through a New York auction house Kate was enamored with the jewelry specialist’s knowledge of the stone & began to pursue her G.G. at GIA. Kate spent six years honing her skills and gaining incomparable knowledge evaluating jewelry at Freeman’s Auction House in Philadelphia, PA.
