Appraiser's Statement
Jennifer Carman, ASA is an experienced appraiser of American and European fine and decorative art including paintings, works on paper, sculpture, furniture, ceramics, silver, and books. Her clients include private collectors, museums, state agencies, corporations, attorneys, CPAs, and insurance companies. J. CARMAN, Inc. appraisal reports are thoroughly researched and executed in the strictest of confidence for purposes of insurance, charitable contributions, estate planning, and damage/loss. Ms. Carman has a Master’s degree in Art History from the University of Glasgow and is a Graduate Connoisseur of Christie’s in London. Additionally, she is an independent art historian and curator with special interests in the American Arts and Crafts Movement, Japanese American internment camp arts, and regional fine and decorative arts of Arkansas, particularly the works of Carroll Cloar, Elsie and Louis Freund, and Mike Disfarmer. She is dedicated to the highest standards of practice within the appraisal profession, and has successfully completed an examination on the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
