Appraiser's Statement

Over 25 years of art world experience in auction houses (Christie's, Sotheby's, Litchfield County Auctions, and Weschler's), galleries (Spanierman Galleries, and Ian Peck Fine Paintings), a private collection (Art Science Research Lab's Marcel Duchamp collection), and a sculpture restoration studio (Matthew Hanlon Restoration).  Mrs. Hillman's work experience has included evaluating fine and decorative arts either at fair market values or retail replacement values.  She graduated from Christie's Education in London in 2004.  While working at Litchfield County Auctions in Litchfield, she regularly met with clients to evaluate their property for sale or for appraisal.  Her responsibilities included valuing and cataloguing fine art, furniture, and decorative arts, most of which were American or European in origin.  She currently is a member of the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History's Collection Steering Committee, having served since 2016.  Available for appraisals in New England and New York.
