Appraiser's Statement
An independent appraiser and owner of RJ Fine Art (Stamford CT) with 20 years in the field. Former private dealer specializing in Modern and Contemporary Latin American Art, whose clients included significant private and institutional collectors. Subsequently transitioned to appraising Post-War, Contemporary & Emerging Art, working for the New York-based appraisal firm, Art Peritus as well as conducting appraisals for other firms, notably, Sharon Chrust & Associates, LLC, Stamford CT. Experience includes work with large artist and private client estates, donations to major institutions, as well as damage and loss for insurance companies, artists and private collectors. Have published artist photographic editions, as well as written and published exhibition and artist catalogues. More recently, with Sharon Chrust, AAA, co-wrote "Posthumous Editions-Does the Market Value the Presence of the Artist?" in Sharon Hecker and Peter J. Karol, eds. Postuhumous Art, Law and the Market: The Afterlife of Art (New York: Routledge) 2022. Adjunct Instructor in the Art History and Interior Design Programs at Fairfield University.
