Appraiser's Statement

Cynthia D. Herbert, AAA, President and founder of Appretium Appraisal Services LLC, is a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA) and serves on the board as a past president (2017-2019). As a Generalist with over 35 years of experience in the appraisal profession, she has evaluated an extensive range of American and European fine and decorative arts, antiques and residential furnishings, including paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textiles, silver, furniture and collectibles. 

Cynthia is an instructor for the the AAA and the Appraisal Institute of America's Comprehensive Appraisal Studies Program (CASP). Through The Appraisal Foundation's Appraiser Qualifications Board, she is a certified USPAP instructor. She has presented at professional conferences, including the AAA's Art Law Day and Of Value Conferences, and the Responsible Art Market Conference; she also serves on The Appraisal Foundation’s (TAF) Personal Property Issues Committee. Previously, she was an Adjunct Professor at New York University's School of Professional Studies and a member of TAF Personal Property Resource Panel. In 2023, she was appointed by President Biden to the 11-member Cultural Property Advisory Committee.
