Appraiser's Statement
Christopher Gaillard is Deputy Chairman of Gurr Johns, Inc., and is the senior Fine Art Appraiser for the firm. Christopher provides appraisals for estate tax, charitable donation, and insurance purposes and advises private clients on acquiring and deaccessioning works of art. Before joining Gurr Johns, Mr. Gaillard was an independent art advisor and appraiser. He was Vice President and Director of Contemporary Prints at Sotheby’s from 1999 to 2008, and Vice President at Christie’s before that. He received his BA in Art History from Colby College and has over 20 years’ experience in the art world. He has been a board member of the International Print Center of New York since 2002, was a board member of Momenta Art from 2001 to 2010, an Accredited Member of the ISA, and is USPAP compliant through April 2022.
