Join us for the final installment of the "Collection Protection" series with Damage and Loss - Fire Appraisals. Appraisers Association of America members Kevin Zweyer Anderson, AAA, Helen Hall, AAA, and Amanda McConaha, AAA will present case studies of fire appraisals that they have worked on, and projects that they felt were best to turn down. Topics to be addressed include; total loss due to fire, working with insurers, post-loss insurance appraisals for collectors and artists, authenticity concerns and due diligence.

Kevin Zweyer Anderson, AAA has been a member of the Appraisers Association of America since 1989. Anderson served on the National Board of Directors of the Appraisers Association from 2016 to 2021 and was Co-Chair of the Education Committee. His areas of specialization are 19th Century Art, American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, Impressionist & Modern Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture.
Upon receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Purchase College, New York in 1984, Anderson joined the well-known Hammer Galleries in New York City. Anderson returned to his native Los Angeles in 1994 and held director level positions with two galleries in Beverly Hills before founding Anderson Galleries in 1998.
Anderson is a member in good standing of The Art and Antique Dealers League of America, the Confederation Internationale des Negociants en Oeuvres D’Art (CINOA), and the Association of Historians of Nineteenth Century Art. Anderson is a Research Library Reader at the Getty Museum in Brentwood, California.
Anderson now works privately and by appointment as an appraiser, dealer, and advisor. Additional services include: research, assistance with authentication, and advice on conservation and collection management.
Helen Hall, AAA is an appraiser of Music and Film Memorabilia, with over 25 years of experience working in this specialist field. Helen Hall was Head Of Entertainment Memorabilia at Christie’s Auction house, New York and London, from 1998-2008 and over her career has worked with many celebrity estates and collections focusing on stage costumes, guitars, manuscripts, furniture and paintings. She founded DIG Appraisals in 2008 to provide appraisals of Film, Music and Celebrity Memorabilia and works with the archives and collections of the most iconic musicians, actors and directors in the world. Working closely with the Victoria and Albert Museum to provide appraisals for the groundbreaking exhibition David Bowie Is..., Helen has worked with the David Bowie Archive, the Estate of Prince Rogers Nelson, the Estate of Tom Petty, the Audrey Hepburn Foundation and the Estate of Marlon Brando to name a few.
Amanda McConaha, AAA is a Senior Appraiser at Jacqueline Silverman & Associates. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. For nearly two decades, Amanda has been an active professional in the art world, as a curator, director of acquisitions, liaison for a variety of contemporary artists, and art appraiser. Amanda joined the JS&A team in 2018. She is a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America, specializing in Post-War & Contemporary Art, and has accreditation in Modern & Impressionist Art and California & Western Art.
